تفاوت آلبوم Recovery با آلبوم های قبلی تنها در انتخاب Producer ها و حضور غافلگیرانه ی Pink و Rihanna نیست. حتی مضامین ترانه های امینم تغییر کرده , این تغییر در آهنگهای Space Bound , Love The Way You Lie به وضوح دیده میشه. این دو آهنگ تقریباً دارای مضمونی مشابه هستند و حالتی عاشقانه دارند , آهنگهای عاطفی نظیر این دو کمتر در کارهای امینم دیده شده که چنین حالتی را تنها میشه آن را در آهنگهایی نظیر Mockingbird و When I'm Gone دید که هر دو به دخترهای امینم اختصاص دارند. ولی در این دو آهنگ امینم از علاقه اش به زنی صحبت میکنه که در آهنگ Space Bound قلب امینم را میشکنه و میخواهد او را ترک کنه . هویت این معشوقی که امینم در این دو آهنگ با او مشاجره داره , معلوم نیست. بعضی از منتقدین معتقدند که این آهنگ وصف زن سابق امینم Kimberley Anne Scott است و بعضی دیگر این آهنگ را یک Love Song معمولی توصیف کردند. با این حال یکی از Bonus Track های آلبوم Encore به نام Love You More دارای شباهتهایی با آهنگ Love The Way You lie و Space Bound هست با این تفاوت که مخاطب این آهنگ Kimهست و امینم در این آهنگ امینم هیچ علاقه ای به حفظ رابطه اش نداره و مثله ورس آخر Love The Way You Lie از همدمش عذرخواهی نیمکنه :
